The first night of our Road Trip Extravaganza, we stayed at Theodore Roosevelt National park – Cottonwood Campground (south unit). Our site number was 027. It was perfectly located by a water faucet and pathway to the restrooms (no showers or electrical hookups). Having already purchased an America the Beautiful Annual Pass, we were able to secure the site for $14.
At a whopping 100° and camping in a tent, we were happy to have packed sunscreen and a couple of gallons of drinking water. The Missouri River wasn’t quite suitable for a dip to cool off, as it truly lived up to its nickname “Big Muddy“, but it was a beautiful sight regardless.

All in all, we were very happy with the first night of our 2017 Road Trip Extravaganza.
Be the Change,
Emma
